The displayed configuration menu below shows the default settings for the driver. Go to the "Advanced" tab and click the "Printing Defaults." button.

To access Printing Defaults in Windows XP, for example, click to Start > Settings> Printers & Faxes > then right click on a ZebraDesigner driver. From the options that appear click Properties. The settings are then initialized back to those in Printing Preferences accessed via Printers & Faxes. It is also possible to access these settings directly from an application. The example below is the "Print" screen from MS Word. Clicking Properties provides access to the same Printing Preferences where changes can be made. Any changes made when accessing Printing Preferences from an application only affect the current, or next, print job until the application is closed.

Only changes made here when the driver is accessed via Printers & Faxes and applied (click Apply and OK) will be retained each time the driver is used by an application. There are additional settings under Advances Setup including an option to Use Printer Settings which prevents commands from being sent to the printer that will change common settings such as Speed and Darkness. It is critical to note that the driver is in control of the printer. Any commands from the driver to change common settings will take effect as there is no way for the printer to ignore them. This menu of configuration parameters is the printer settings that are in effect each time an application accesses the driver.
